Hamza Zourakhti

Hamza specialises in litigation matters relating to Life Sciences & Healthcare disputes as well as general commercial disputes. He regularly litigates before the Dutch civil courts, and has considerable experience in summary proceedings. Futhermore, Hamza regularly advises clients on a variety of topics related to the Life Sciences & Healthcare regulatory framework. He regularly teaches on legal subjects related to his practice. Hamza has been recorgnized as a 'Key Lawyer' within the Industry Focus: Life Sciences & Healthcare by Legal 500 (2024).

Hamza studied International & European Law (LLB) and International Business Law (LLM) at the Tilburg University. He has also studied Business Law at the Yonsei University in Seoul, Korea. In 2022, Hamza completed the post-graduate specialisation course on contract law at the Leiden University.

Hamza has registered the principal legal practice area 'Healthcare Law' in the Netherlands Bar's register of legal practice areas (rechtsgebiedenregister). Based on this registration, he is required to obtain ten training credits per calendar year in each registered principal legal practice area in accordance with the standards set by the Netherlands Bar.

• The successful representation of various healthcare administration offices (zorgkantoren) in landmark cases involving the Dutch long-term care market;
• The representation of the Netherlands' largest healthcare insurer in an essential case regarding the impediment criterion (hinderpaalcriterium), which resulted in a favourable Supreme Court ruling);
• The successful representation of a medical advisor in disciplinary proceedings;
• The representation of a large healthcare insurer in a matter relating to the purchase of diagnostics, which resulted in a favourable court decision;
• The successful representation of a football agent in a case revolving around a dispute regarding agent fees;
• Advising Oi Telecom Group in its debt restructuring.
